San Diego: Our New Home!

My first picture with EJ at the coast!

We were looking for places to live near campus and found our way down to the La Jolla (pronounced "La Hoya") Cove. La Jolla has several beaches. The Cove is a very small beach under sandstone cliffs. There are caves that you can kayak through the Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. There's also Black's Beach, Children's Pool where we've seen numerous seals, La Jolla Shores and Torrey Pines State Beach.

Here we are near one of the sandstone caves. It looks like we are all alone but there was a triathalon in the cove that day so it was packed with people!

"Even when it's cloudy it's still a good day at the beach!"

Here's a few shots I have taken on our trips down to the water. It's really spectacular!

Eric and EJ were invited to a Padres/Dodgers game with one of our new neighbors. The Padres didn't win but the guys had a great time on boys night out!

We have a mall about five minutes from our house that has some fun activities for kids. On our first visit I saw a sign that said Curious George was coming to Pottery Barn Kids so we made our way to meet him. He was a giant George--not the cute little monkey we see on TV! It didn't faze EJ, he was happy to meet him and take a picture.

The mall also has a jumpy house, play area and train. Here he is after climbing to the top of the kangeroo in the play area. He is becoming less and less inhibited!

He loves this train and has rode it many times. He always wants to be the conductor and will wait and extra turn if the seat is taken.
